First Visit
AT WEST SIDE CHIROPRACTIC
At West Side Chiropractic, our examination procedures focus on identifying and addressing “Vertebral Subluxation” issues. These procedures are carefully chosen to promote the health of your spine and nervous system. When you visit us for the first time, there are a few things you can expect:
Our examination involves a comprehensive assessment of your spine and nervous system, including a technique known as “Palpation.” This technique involves hands-on evaluation of your spine, allowing Dr. Jessica to pinpoint areas potentially linked to subluxation problems. Additionally, the examination assesses spinal alignment, curvatures, and muscle tension in relation to possible spinal subluxations. Alongside manual assessment, specialized equipment might be used for a more precise evaluation of your spine and nervous system. This examination comprises various components, each contributing to a thorough assessment.
Spinal X-rays are considered based on age and circumstances. Certain situations, like pregnancy, most children, recent usable spinal X-rays, and others, might preclude their use. Except for these instances, X-rays are routinely employed in the examination for vertebral subluxations. They provide crucial details about spinal bone positioning, quality, safety for adjustments, and the duration of subluxation involvement. Typically, three spinal X-rays are taken at the start of care for most patients.
From the information gathered in your First Visit, Dr. Jessica is able to accurately determination the correct type of spinal adjustments required and establish the frequency of your ongoing care that best suits you. A comprehensive explanation of your X-rays will be provided during your Report of Findings appointment, which will be scheduled a few days after your initial visit. This appointment, lasting up to an hour, is paramount and entails sharing your care plan and specific instructions for optimal and expedited results. To ensure minimal disruption to regular patient care hours, we have dedicated time slots for these appointments. Our team will coordinate your Report of Findings session following your initial visit.
